Remember Wendy Davis?

image

You know, the badass democrat who fillibustered for 11 hours straight to conserve women’s rights in Texas?

image

Well, this wonderful and amazing woman has announced her campaign for Texas governor!

image

Let’s show her some goddamn support!

Her opponent, Greg Abbott, is all about “traditional values.”

What fucking good have “traditional values” ever done for anyone?

Not a goddamn thing, that’s what. Vote for Wendy Davis.

WHOAAAAAAA HOLD UP DID DEATON LOVE TALIA? BECAUSE I AM 100% BEHIND THAT ROMANCE AND THE TRAGIC FEELINGS IT CAUSES

I am not because this man made a plan with a teenager which had as its main point abusing Derek, the son of the woman he says he loves. This is fucked up and makes no sense.

I can’t get over his speech to Derek after Peter’s resurrection. You know, the whole “Your problem, Derek, is that you don’t trust amazingly trustworthy people like Scott, the guy who at this very moment is in cahoots with me in order to trick you and forcefully use your body to poison Gerard Argent.”

It’s like Deaton only remembers the promise he made to Talia when Derek is about to kick the bucket.

In a way, Deaton is Derek’s Severus Snape.

Thos! I wanted to write this in my first comment in the post but forgot. Deaton is Severus/Dumbledore.

Wasn’t Deaton supposed to be gay?

Everything about this stupid throw away line is AWFUL. The implication that Deaton loved Talia and somehow cares about Derek is so far OOC from how we’ve seen Deaton treat Derek that yes, Snape is an obvious comparison. Worse is that going there to ‘help Derek’ made so little sense when, in the end, the info he came out of that little encounter with was TO HELP SCOTT. Like, why even have that line? LAZY. Go there saying you had a bad dream about Berserkers. Nothing really had anything to do with Derek at all. (considering Derek ‘evolved’ just fine without Deaton’s help, thx). Also that Deaton was meant to be gay proves the point that the writers never had any intention before this moment to have Deaton be in love with Talia.

But what bugs me the most is that this line that could have been a motivator, added character depth, given a backstory to a character who remains after 4 seasons still a complete unknown. Instead, I think we can all assume we will never hear another word about this apparent ‘love’ Deaton felt for Talia.

What if it wasn’t Talia the woman he was talking about?
